Q: What is a PAC?
A: A PAC — or Political Action Committee — is an entity that raises and spends money to support candidates who align with the values of its members. The Missouri Medical PAC (MMPAC) exists to represent physicians and patients by helping elect leaders who will protect the integrity of medicine and promote common-sense health policy in Missouri.
Q: How is MMPAC funded?
A: MMPAC is powered entirely by voluntary donations. Not a single cent of your Missouri State Medical Association (MSMA) dues goes toward MMPAC — every contribution is intentional and purposeful.
Q: Who represents MMPAC throughout Missouri?
A: MMPAC is supported by a highly skilled advocacy team, including two full-time lobbyists who work year-round to build strong relationships with physician-friendly legislators and keep medicine’s priorities front and center in Jefferson City.
Q: Does MMPAC support a political party?
A: Nope. MMPAC is strictly non-partisan. We don’t care about red or blue — we care about who supports the House of Medicine. We support candidates based on one thing: Will they stand up for physicians and patients? If the answer is yes, we’re with them – if not, we are opposed.
Q: Who can join MMPAC?
A: Anyone who supports the future of physician-led care in Missouri. That includes physicians, medical students, residents, spouses, family members, and even non-physicians who care about high-quality healthcare. You don’t have to be an MSMA member, live in Missouri, or hold an MD or DO to contribute — you just need to care about medicine.
