The History of Missouri State Medical Association documents 175 years of achievements, leadership, wars, pandemics, legislative victories, and medical discoveries and innovation. It reflects how MSMA has protected the healthcare of Missourians for the past 175 years. During the Association’s 150th year in 2000, the 1850-1949 History Volume was updated with the years 1950 to 2000, compiled from the minutes of the Annual Sessions for the years 1950-1999 and the Delegate’s Handbook of 2000. For MSMA’s 175th Anniversary in 2025, History Volume 2000-2025 was completed from historical information researched from the Delegate’s Handbook, the minutes from Annual Conventions, and the issues of Missouri Medicine, Progress Notes, and the Legislative Review.
