Who is your elected representative and senator? Is he/she a Republican or a Democrat? Does he/she serve on a key committee? What bills have they introduced? HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES - CLICK HERE WHAT DO WE PASS OUT TO OUR LEGISLATORS? Bring your business cards so you can write a note on the back and leave them with legislators, aides, or staff. The MSMA/MAOPS team will supply you with agendas, House and Senate rosters, Capitol maps, issues and talking points, leave-behind materials, and more! WHERE DO WE MEET? WHERE DO WE PARK? Physician Advocacy Day will start at the Millbottom Event Center, just down the hill from the Capitol in the “bottoms” of the Missouri River. Watch for an all-brick building on the Missouri River side along West Main. You’ll spot a bike store in the same area. Parking is free and on the river side of the building. After MSMA/MAOPS's presentation of the issues, we will arm you with handouts and directories. You can walk up to the Capitol or you can take the trolley. Main St., Jefferson City, MO 65101 All Missouri physicians, residents, fellows, medical students and Alliance members are invited to attend. Membership in MAOPS or MSMA is not required. A board-certified Emergency Room Physician for over 30 years, Dr. Alexander serves as a senior partner with the Emergency Physicians of Springfield, affiliated with Cox Health Systems. He earned his BA/MD from UMKC Medical School in 1982. Heavily involved in medical career outreach programs for over twenty-five years, Dr. Alexander has mentored medical students, residents, and first responders. It is important that physicians support candidates that advocate on their behalf. Please consider a donation to Dr. Alexander’s campaign.
